HAVS is an independent voluntary organisation formed and run by local voluntary groups to promote and encourage effectiveness of voluntary action in our area. We assist and promote the development and support of the voluntary sector in the London Borough of Hillingdon; support and develop links between statutory and voluntary sectors; and act as a focal point and provide a forum for the voluntary sector.

HAVS provide information and advice on fundraising; publish a directory of voluntary organisations; and produce publications including our Annual Report and quarterly newsletter.

We provide low-cost admin services for local charities; and manage projects, including a Volunteer Centre, small groups worker & information development.

We currently have over 400 members.

The National Association for Councils for Voluntary Service (NAVCA). The network of over 280 CVS spans both urban and rural areas of England. They promote effective local voluntary and community action by providing CVS with a range of support services. www.navca.org.uk.

LVSC strengthens London’s voluntary organisations by providing services and a strong voice on policy issues that affect Londoners. www.lvsc.org.uk.

Volunteering England is a democratic membership organisation with local Volunteer Centre branches. The centres offer advice and information to would-be volunteers and good practice advice to volunteer-involving agencies. www.navb.org.uk.
